Hi all, very new to the coin and money collecting hobbie but I was wondering if some could help me. I was working in a retail store and a customer payed with this 20 dollar bill is it worth anything
Welcome to CT! I am not a paper collector, but from other posts I have read, I;m sure the answer will be that it is worth $20. The off center isn't enough to warrant any additional value. It would need to be going off the edge, and the next bill starting to appear. But let's see what the others have to say.
Sorry, but look at it this way, sticking with the paper theme, you can go into a bank and trade it in for: One $20 -or- Two $10s -or- Four $5s -or- Ten $2s -or- Twenty $1s, and number of which could yield you a star, fancy SN, older Series, or other printing error... you live to play another day! :thumb:
Glad to do it. Consider this. You found this at face value and the education cost you nothing. You could have bought this "rare error!" on ebay and paid 2x to 3x face value and then found out what it was really worth. Read some of the other threads about errors and varieties. Knowing what to look for makes the hunt that much more enjoyable and profitable. Good luck and welcome to Coin Talk!
If it makes you feel any better, this will happen 99 out of 100 times on this forum. The crushing of dreams, not the fast responses.
