I'm gonna guess a 1970-S DDO Lincoln Cent. But Grim, you're going to HAVE to post us a pic on this one. The 1970-S cent CAN have real die doubling, but more often than not, it's machine doubling damage. (I know, I have 17 MDD 1970-S cents.) The only way for us to tell you is for us to see the coin.

BTW, the MDD cents carry a $0.01 value, and the 1970-S DDO (the real deal) can carry with it a very nice premium.

    GrimReaper,

I hope that it is a true DDO! If so and it is circulated, then the value depends on what grade. However, even with a grade, there is very little information on sells of these extremely rare error coins and a true value is almost impossible until it sells! It might be advisable to have the coin slabbed, graded and attributed even if it only grades out at Very Fine but definitely so if it will grade from EF to AU or higher. After that, eBay or another Coin Auction site might be the avenue to sell the coin and find what others feel that it is worth!

    Good luck...Frank

    Hi,
We gotta see a picture on this one. there are a few types of DDO on 1970 S cents and mechanical doubling is usually encountered. But, a picture would be worth a thousand words.
