Actually, the 1942 Jefferson is very difficult to find with great eye appeal in the higher grades. This is the best I could do so far.
A coin found roll searching or in change is one less available to a higher grade collector. I find worn 65 quarters in change all the time. SMS coins are everywhere. However, I don't think business strike 65's in higher grades are as easy to locate as their mintage figure would make us believe. Hated coins are spent, worn, and circulated. Loved coins are hoarded and kept pristine.
In half searching, I CONSTANTLY get an inordinate amount of 1971s and other 70s dates. I also get a decent number of 90s but they're always shiny so I know not to expect silver. I see a beat-up coin, I'm thinking it's from the 60s.
I primarily dislike finding other nations' coins in my change or during roll searching. An exception would be any coins containing precious metals compositions, but that's a rather uncommon occurrence with modern currency.
I'm not a fan of the Third Reich zinc coins. They're almost always corroded and many were poorly struck to begin with. Ditto for the occupation pieces issued for Belgium and the Netherlands. When I find them in junk bins, I'm tempted to toss them back. Taiwanese, Indonesian, and modern Mexican coins are also a pain. There don't seem to be any dates or varieties worth looking for, and there are a lot of them out there.
2010 Pennys THERE EVERYWHERE!!!!!! i've gotten 10 boxes to cherry pick the copper ones and i keep getting NEW 2010-D's in all the rolls/boxes!!!!!
