philippine 1947s general macarthur silver peso and half peso commemorative set. mintage at 100,000 for peso and 200,000 for 50 centavo. general macarthur is the hero during the world war II in the philippines. thus the pilipino always remember him. i was able to obtain 40 brilliant uncirculated half peso from a new dealer in the philippine when i visited there during 1990's.
philippine 1947s commemorative coins those coins contained 75% silver. and to collect a set is more valuable than single piece.
Aidan if you check the post in front of mine it was posted today asking for info on this coin! therfore I assume that they have one.
Steve, the mintage figure in Krause will provide a clue as to their scarcity.Seek & ye shalt find. Aidan.
Again Aiden you fail to read I asked for a pic of what the poster has they asked for prices not me Mintage was not mentioned
Thats weird that someone who constantly revives 3-year-old threads for no reason at all would point out that this is an 'old posting'. NOT a fan of Macarthur. I am a fan of Truman. He wasn't a fan of Macarthur either. (remember he fired him.)
