Mexican early silver peso

    mexican silver peso was considered one of the strongest currency in the world during those old days. american were using mexican dollar to trade too. it has so many type of silver peso. so many mint mark. and also gathered chop mark. because it was widely use in asia too. i got many mexican silver peso. but not in good condition. mostly fine to very fine.

    In a way yes, we got the idea for our silver dollar from the Spanish colonial 8 reales. The reale coinage was the most widely circulated and readily accepted coinage there was in the early US. It circulated until 1857.


    Annie - are you confusing the Mexican peso with the 8 reales ? The first Mexiacan peso did not exist until 1870.

    the old mexican pesos were somewhat not standard in its sizes. unlike the american dollar or morgan. all coins looks equal. the mexican and the chinese older crown were of the same. not standardized.
