I have not run a contest in a long while and I thought it would be fun to reward someone who has refined his/her knowledge of Jefferson Nickels. The first person to guess the assigned grade of the 1942-D Jefferson Nickel shown below will win the prize.

Please note that I have provided the fact that this coin resides in a generation 3 holder so you guys can factor in gradeflation.

Once you have voted in the attached poll, please respond to the thread and type the assigned grade. Responding to the thread will provide a time stamp and your vote must be the same as your response. Again, the first person to guess the assigned grade will win the prize shown below.

A GEM BU 1941 Jefferson Nickel with very interesting and colorful toning.

    Good Luck!

PS. The contest will end if nobody guesses the correct grade within the next 48 hours and the grade will be revealed.

While this is definitely not true for me, a 1/10 chance isn't too bad!

I'd guess 67 possibly but I don't think the steps would make it.

I am not so sure about the steps, but that sure looks like a 67 to me. You pictures don't normally show luster well, but that one looks like it is loaded.

Is that a bit of rub on his cheekbone and jaw? I voted AU-58, on the off chance that my eyes aren't deceiving me.

What is it about the steps that you don't think they would make it?

Well obviously that is not right, and you chose it because it was the only grade that had not been taken. What grade would you really give the coin Abe?

BTW, I will announce the winner of the contest later tonight.
