A local dealer is offering 2 pairs of Canadian dollars (1935 & 1939) for $24 each. That seems to be on the upper end for high-grade coins of these dates. I'd like to know what areas to check for wear on these. Anyone have a diagnostic diagram handy?
With silver at $30/oz, scrap dollar face is $18. The '35 is not a BV coin, but the '39 is except in top grades. Look for wear in the front below the hair part, the hair above the ear, the hair at the back of the head in back of the ear, and the upper cheek. On the Rev of the '39, check the outside frame of the tallest tower. On the '35, it's the deatil on the Indian's back, the voyaguer's shoulder and the packages in the canoe .. to some extent the tree.
