this morning i had a telephone call from a friend asking if he should buy a 1998 US "silver" 5 dollar coin, now i am not an expert on US coinage but isn't the 5 dollar coin gold? anyway i told him not to buy it.

Maybe he meant a Canadian silver maple leaf (face value of $5 Canadian)?

 

no he definitely said US with an eagle, he has a decent collection of canadian including maples.

 

There is a U.S. $5 gold, but no silver.

 

as i thought barry, people who try to pass off these forgeries as genuine should be ashamed of themselves.
