....COPYS OF THE 1929 5$ GOLD PIECE.If you have seen it,what do you think about it?If you haven't,well.....wait for it. B12
Ahh...National Collectors Mint strikes again. What kind of idiotic coin obsessed nutcase would order these monstrosities?http://www.nationalcollectorsmint.com/category.jsp?path=-1&id=-1 I've posted a photo of some of their other replicas as a warning to others..
Oh I've seen it. Paid it no mind though. If I can't afford the real thing (and I can't), I'm not going to buy a fake. And even with there "extra special, super-de-duper, pre-issue" price, they're making a killing. No thank you.
I think it's a total scam. It's a clad replica, which they do mention, but they talk it up as if it's something you just can't miss out on. Probably going to get most of their sales from non-collectors who think it would be a great gift for a collector.
Ha..and just checked the website and saw their design for the 51st state quarter. And it can be yours for only $5.95 each. And it's clad in 27 milligrams of silver!! :rolling:
yeah i ordered a "1907 High Relief Saint-Gaudens Replica" thinking it would be a neat/cheap piece to bring around with me and play around with, but it turned out the "replica" is like 2x the size of the original. :desk:
"In your heart you know he's nuts!" LOL, I wasn't born until 1977, so I missed the '64 campaign by a good bit, but I love the LBJ campaign quote I mentioned above, it's just so funny. I suppose that I wouldn't think it was so funny if I'd lived through a different part of the cold war than I did, but in my limited experience it is rather humorous.
Also did you notice they only showed the reverse once and the area where they put COPY on it was half covered up. You only saw the word COPY on the back for a flash. What a ripe off.
