    The first time I heard of lathe lines on coins was 11-18-2010 and 11-24-2010 I found this baby. I scored this coin while searching a bag of nickels I've gotten from a local corner store.I think I asked for 4.00$ in nickels,and after 2 minutes--> bingo!!!!:hail:

    Thank you Abe..I was excited..How many of these coins I over looked in the past bacause I never heard or saw one?Here is a pic of the obverse, and this coin is a new find because no P nickel has been listed yet.

    so a coin with circular marks are considered errors?

    It's a die variety because the lines are supposed to be machined off when the die is made.

    Can you find lathe lines on all coins?

    They can be found on most modern circulating coinage. I recently found a 1994 Kennedy with some. :)

    I have a silver nickel a 1942 p it has four circles and the center of the coin going towards the top and I want to know what the value is and someone to explain what the error is

    Were going to need pictures to be able to determine what it is. What you describe might be lathe lines, or it could just be post strike damage. Can't tell without seeing it.
