krispy I haven't used them either but have been thinking of picking one up to see the differences (if any). Anyone have suggestions as to whether or not they're worth picking up?
My favorite for enjoyment is the OP's book "100 Greatest U.S. Notes" (just got it for Christmas) I don't know how they selected the notes that they did but they give a nice description of each and the pictures are high quality. It was also interesting to see the estimates on price and number of bills in existence. My favorites for usefulness would have to be a book such as "Paper money of the US" as mention above or "National Banknotes" by Don C Kelly for the sheer magnitude of the information it holds.
"The Engraver's Line" by Gene Hessler "The International Engraver's Line" by Gene Hessler "100 Greatest American Notes" by Q.David Bowers Bowers and David M.Sundman "U.S. ESSAY,PROOF and SPECIMEN NOTES "by Gene Hessler "Comprenhersive Catalog of U.S. Paper Money" by Gene Hessler "Paper Money of the United States" by Arthur l. and Ira s. Friedman
Krispy, I get Greensheet and it is totally worth getting. Maybe not all the time, but it has a good amount but doesn't cover star notes.
