1829 Capped Bust Half; Hone Your Grading Skills

Here is a really nice Capped Bust Half which has been graded by ANACS, one of the few companies I don't CRACKOUT their product. The diagonal line on the obverse is on the plastic. I used scissors to open the package What's the grade?

VF-35....ish

 

I agree with rick... seems to fall a bit shy of EF-40 to me.

Maybe EF-45 but just to be on the safe side I'd go with EF-40. B12

EX-45 and a good looking Coin

 

I would have said EF-40 while first looking at the obv., but then I saw the rev. and it was weaker that I expected.
My final grade is VF-35. If it wasn't for the weakness of the eagles wings I would have said EF.

 

aqree with Mr Bower's however, to my eye and the photo and your description my thoughts and ANA's latest graing guide believe this to be an AU50 coin.

Not checking the book, just judging from my own I would have to say it's pushing an XF.
