I found 2 unique looking dimes. The first looks like it has a double rim, take a look If you look right under the "ONE" you can really see it. Thoughts? The second one looks like some of the plating (not sure on termonology) is removed from Roosevelts head What do you all think?
They have a specific name for it but I can't recall exactly what it is off the top of my head, but the double rim is a type of collar error. Not terribly uncommon nor does it add any value to speak of.
Thats as bright as I can get it, but maybe it is just post mint. Maybe someone took a lighter to it I tried to clean it up a little though and the ring is still there
Thanks for sharing this one Very worn die strike, there no hair. but just a keeper no real value above 10 cents
Thou shalt not clean coins!! Of course in this case it doesn't really matter since its PMD. And look at tons of pennies from the 80's. They will appear to have a double rim. If I recall correctly its a type of die deterioration error but not positive. This may not be the same error but its extremely common on modern Rosies.
Thank you all for your responses! I only cleaned it with a little wate Again, you all have been very helpful
