This is like my fourth rattle out of the cradle and I'm still having trouble figuring out how to conigure my options to show the most recent replies in a given thread first when I click on that thread. How is that done? Also, a few other questions, might as well get those out of the way here too. One, what power magnifiers do you use? Two, your photos are fantastic, but I don't think you're using any old digital camera, are you? Exactly how are you taking these photos while excluding the backgrounds? And finally, what's this about software, are you purchasing special software to organize and get your collections online? Inquiring minds (well, one at least ) want to know. Thx.
Easy, go up to the top of the page and click on User CP. Once that window opens, over on the left you will see where it says Control Panel. Look down under Settings & Options - click on Edit Options. Then scroll down a bit until you see Thread Display Options. There you will see where it says Thread Dispaly Mode with a drop down box on the right. Click on the little arrow, then click on - Linear - Newest First. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click on Save Changes. All done For magnifiers a 5x is recommended. For all of the other questions, a few simple searches for words like Pictures, Photographs, Cameras, Software etc will provide many threads to read on the subject.
OK - I'll tell you but you won't like the answer and it won't really be complete. It's not so much the camera as it is the operator. Folks with cheap digital cameras can take pics just as good as those with expensive ones - you just need to know more to be able to do so. It's all in the technique, the lightling, the angle used for the pic and just what you are trying to capture with the pic - detail, luster, marks & dings etc etc etc. In other words - there are a thousand different ways to skin a cat - but the end result is the same
Got it. Can't fit it on a bumper sticker. I'll find and read up on the techniques, thx for the replies.
