I am struggling on this one. I strongly feel as though it is an XF40. However, it could go as low as a VF35 because of the Reverse. Any ideas?

Is it a dug coin? I'm guessing "Environmental Damage - No Grade".

I really don't know. I thought it could be. I picked this coin up a few days ago from a private individual.

Does it also have a big ol' dent in it?

The dent is located on the top Rev. Doesn't seem to be touching any part of the Obv. That is one of the reasons I was thinking VF. Since there is a jump in grade, I told myself many eyes are better than just mine.

Another dent on the obverse at U of united? Definitely environmental damage as well as the dents.

I would say AU corroded and damaged net VF details. In my opinion.

I agree with Hobo and Mark.

Excellent details but the corrosion and even obverse damage really distract from it.
