I hope not either! I am new to coin collecting so maybe I should have been more careful, but I am a trusting person!
Thanks for the detailed explanation, coinman. I've been mostly buying lots at or near melt, and picking out any treasures I come across, but it's getting to the point where I need to start selling some in order to sustain my hobby. It's very useful to get an idea of what real prices are like.
One of the most difficult aspects to learn in this hobby, is Patience . All day long folks buy into the Market hype and overpay . This one one such situation where the OP could have easily done so in that first auction. I'd like to know what the final bid on that example came to . Probably better than $60.00 , as that was the last bid stated by the OP . Maybe he can let us know what that auction is at now. In the end, he won a very nice coin with lots of profit potential down the road.
Hi Coin, what do you mean by OP? This is the original auction i was looking at: http://cgi.ebay.com/1878-CC-MORGAN-...64?pt=Coins_US_Individual&hash=item1c18765d88
OP stands for " Original Post..er meaning you. Do you know what the final on that first piece came to or is that auction still going ? You made an excellent buy at a reasonable price with good potential for profit down the road.
I guess the seller revised the auction at a higher starting price . It will be a good auction to watch some bidding on this one. Thanks.
