I've never heard anything bad about the place....I've never used it...I've used Heritage in the past but am sure that Teletrade will get some business from me someday.

I have used it, i've received some nice coins. Just remember to figure what you want to pay for the coin and subtract ($13) $8 for service fee, and $5 for shipping. So if you see a nickel you want to get and not pay over $25 for it.. make sure you don't bid over $12.

On the other hand, different from ebay, if you bid $50 your going to pay $50. It's a auction in a sense, but i've always ended up having to pay my max bid on everything i've won, still not exactly sure about that.. <shrug>

    MARS1970,

I have bought the majority of my slabbed coins from Teletrade. I love their service! glaciermi is nearly right with his explaination of fees. However, I believe that the buyers fee is 12% with a minimum of 8 dollars, so if you bid more than $70 or so on a coin, you'll be paying more than 8 dollars for the buyers fee. Also, the shipping changes depending on how much the hammer price of the auction was. It costs more than $4 when the price gets up there a little bit. All of these fees to me are perfectly acceptable. You just have to remember to figure them in when deciding how much to bid on a coin. I personally don't like to do the Max bidding, so I just watch the auction and bid. Each time before I place a bid, I figure the total price with Buyer's Fee and Shipping if I won that coin and take that into consideration of if I want to bid more or not. I haven't gotten any great deals off of buying coins on there, but I believe that I've paid fair prices. Their shipping is fast and their customer service is great if you have any issues. Their Price Guide is also very handy. Check it out.

Thankyou all for your input.I knew about the buyers fee and all, just wanted to make sure there coins were as good as they looked.Prices seem to be right around where I expected, and so what cheaper than Ebay for a change.:thumb:

Now it seems its time to go bid.

Bidding is really fun. Just don't get carried away! There are two things that I really like about Teletrade. One is the quality of the images available. It really helps you to see the quality of a coin before you buy it. The other is that you don't have to deal with individual sellers who may or may not have bad intentions (as on e-bay). Good luck and have fun!
