I am developing a love hate relationship with coins. The more I lean the more fanatical I get about checking all coins I come in contact with. it's driving me nuts.:headbang:
Just wait! You'll be checking the charity boxes at checkouts, all the coin returns of any payphone or drink machine; staring at the tills everytime one opens at the grocery store or restaurant; asking for extra change when you see an interesting coin in a till; bugging friends and relatives for their coin jars or piggy banks; etc. etc...... and it just gets worse....
Already there!!! I'm a cashier at a gas station. I check the drawer all the time. I can't give back change without double checking it before I hand it to the customer. I have to check serial numbers when bills are handed to me. lol And yes I keep spying in the charity box.
however annoying it is, it does pay off sometimes. i got a canadian 2000p nickle 2 days ago spying the take a penny, leave a penny jar. i threw a different nickle in of course.
Ugh. I was heading into the grocery this afternoon, and saw that an attractive young woman was getting ready to dump change into the CoinStar. When I checked out, she was still there, and I was hearing an occasional "clunk" as something hit the reject slot. So I get my groceries, wander over to the DVD display next to the CoinStar, waiting to ask her if she'd like me to look at any of the stuff that got rejected -- and then telling myself, "DON'T BE CREEPY DON'T BE CREEPY DON'T BE CREEPY". Sigh.
