    these are examples of the scarcest banknotes to find from scottish banks, i have only ever been able to buy three examples over the years. if you see any snap them up because they are becoming even rarer.........

    in general scottish notes are quite easy to obtain but the union bank are becoming as scarce as hens teeth.

    Canna imagine why anyone would collect Scottish banknotes. No history, they only date to 1695, they hae nay colours, no variety etc.:devil:

    I collect them seriously, have several hundred that date back to 1810 an' have all the 20th century banks, and a lot of the 19th century banks. My fave is Caledonian Banking Co, where my ancestors came from - Inverness. As a group, I like the British Linen Co notes, and have literally hoards of them. For colour, I like National Bank - especially those narsty 1957 notes.

    the real beauties are the new clydesdale bank series, but my favourite will always be the union bank the 1914 you posted is almost orgasmic to look at,
