To get a good value you would need to litterally sit down and go through each note, coin or stamp to get a good value. Or if lucky look on ebay and see if you can find one that has asked price. The only problem with that is that you would have to assume the two sets had the exact same - coins, stamps and notes.

to be honest some look silver, some look copper, and some look gold, so im unsure.the country list on one page is for one binder not three..so theres a good few country\s

It would be an interesting set to own. I don't know what kind of value it would have because I'm sure a lot of the notes in it are demonetized. So individual notes could be picked up for a couple of dollars or so and the coins might be the same or less.

A dealer had told me about Excelsior a few years ago. It was a company that dealt (deals) mainly with stamps and they had tried getting into the coin/currency business by producing these "collections". They were very expensive because you were basically paying for the presentation. I believe it was set up in where you received a couple of countries each month.

They didn't last long. A few years at the most. I think the company still sell stamps.

Just out of curiosity, with no idea of its value, why did you pay several hundred dollars for it? I would try to sell it for at least what I paid for it.

at the time i had the extra money and i found it very nice and professionally laid out.since then i feel im enjoying collecting canadian coins and newfoundland. i really want to get rid of it so i can put the money back into what i enjoy more. coin's. just a thought would something like this sell i wonder at a coin auction.. maybe i should just list it and take offers and see if i can get back what i put into it..i was just hoping someone on here may have saw this set before, or owned one or had an idea of its value..like buying a car then a model you like better comes out and you sell it to get the new one lol.

Fwiw: Modern stamps are a horrible market.
Dealers sell modern (1930-up), unused, common stamps below face value.
Used modern stamps sell by the pound!

Think about a dealer selling unused stamps below face value... that will give you an idea of what they pay for them.

If you have unused stamps before 1930, then you have stamps that might bring dollars, as opposed to cents.

moneyer12 i just love UK coins.......

looking at the gb page, the coin looks like a 1967 penny, which is worth 25p in uncirculated condition, the banknote is a £1 sommerset which is worth about £3. so really it looks like they used the commonest coins/notes from each country to put together a collection.
