hi does anyone have any leper colony coins? i have just accuired one from columbia but i am a little unknowledgable about these particular coins.
Yes i have a fair number of them. I have a complete set of Leprosarium cons from the Phillipines and Columbia, and Venezuela. I have a partial set from Palo Seco the US controled Canal Zone in Panama. I don't have anything from the Colonia Santa Tereza colony in Brazil or the Nagashima-Aisei colony in Japan. Here is a short article with examples of pieces from all of the colonies. I give them to someone to look at and wait for the question "Where is it from?" or "What is it?". I say "It's from a leper colony." It is amazing how fast they want to get rid of it.
