B e a u t i f u l !! That could make me enter a casino for the first time! I'm going to check and see..we have a lot of them in the area.. Love that horse!
I like THAT coin Krispy, it's a piece of art!! I have wondered what a Libertad looked like, but was too lazy to look it up! Thank you for posting it! Lucy (another coin to investigate; all those whatevers on the back...sigh..)
Thanks Lucy, I completely agree, Libertads are lovely... and they come in various sizes (denominatons) as well as silver and gold compositions. These coins have a very robust following amongst certain collectors. Some dates command high (numismatic) premiums above spot metals price too. Here is the Wikipedia page on Libertad coins.
Hey, I don't want to be a debbie downer and obviously there is no way I can tell for certain from those pics.... are you sure there is not a clear coating on that MPL? My favorite, I guess would be the first submission to a TPG 4 out of 5 encapsulated. and coinguy56 - check out the Lincoln in that submission that wasn't encapsulated. http://www.cointalk.com/t145199-3/
Outstanding Traz. I'd have a hard time picking one favorite between those two!:hail: And to everyone else, a fine bunch of coins, lets hope 2011 will be even better.
It is a beautiful nickel with nice soft colors, and full steps too boot! Rims look great, strike looks great, what's not to love! Congrats
I have found that it is much cheaper to buy these on line rather than stick fifty bucks in a machine. Of course sometimes you hit and sometimes you don't, but you sure don't get one on every pull.
One of my father's favorite Idiom's was that "A fool and his money are soon parted". This means that people who aren't careful with their money spend it quickly and unwisely.
My BEST buy this year was this for $5.00. It's colorized, but at least it's silver. http://compare.ebay.com/like/140494...ff16c3b&itemid=140494932266&ff4=263602_304662
I had just found out the other day, EyeEatWheaties. Very first purchase from Heritage turned out to be a rip-off. This MPL has PVC damage to it, and Heritage still auctioned it. That's ok though, they just lost a customer for advertising a piece of crap coin that wouldn't even grade. I'll just attend coin shows, where there's no buyers premium, and where you can rub noses with coins before you make an offer or place a bid. Thanks Heritage...... Here's some better pics: I just mailed this coin to NCS yesterday for conservation. I surely hope they can save me on this one.
One of my favorite purchases of 2010 is the 0.9 oz Coca-Cola silver art round. A picture of it is on post # 101 the following thread: http://www.cointalk.com/showthread.php?t=55843&p=844628&viewfull=1#post844628
I bought a 38 D Jefferson. Raw that likely would grade AU58. Fairly decent coin that completed the circulated set I started in Boy Scounts back in 1959. After a long haitus, it was fun to finally finish the album. Now I can upgrade at will. lol gary
