    Something I found while going through my father's coins. Any thoughts?

    Its called a "cud", part of the die had broken away.This is a pretty large one. I have no idea of value though.

    That's an awesome cud. Most cuds are valued between $5 and $10, but that's a particularly large one so I'll wait for an expert to chip in a value.

    That is a beauty and according to ETCM large cuds on lincolns trend $25...

    Whoa....... not the mother lode I've been looking for (Ha Ha) but certainly interesting. I think my dad may be rolling over in his grave right now (and I thought his "unique/defects" baggie was a waste of time).
