There are some prefix/serial numbers that are collectible because they could be replacement notes. However, in some cases it's a range of numbers in a prefix series that may be used for replacements. These ranges are studied to determine which numbers are from the normal serial number issue and which are used as replacements.

As for collecible prefixes, there really aren't many unless it's a low printing and the notes must be in absolutely perfect condition. Any sign of circulation, bumps, creases, or wear reduces the note to face value only.

I'll pm you with some information.

There's information on the site I sent you which will show you the replacement ranges for each series. I don't collect replacements because I don't search stacks. On the older notes, stars indicated replacements. With the current notes, it's a portion of a run that's dedicated for use as replacements.

I collect mainly error notes and Canadian Chartered Bank Notes.
