Here are three coins with "issues". First is a Merc that seems to have doubling on the date. The entire date seems to be doubled. This is the only doubling on the coin, so I ruled out machine doubling. The Jefferson suffered from some sort of delamination. I would have thought it was PMD, but the edges of the damaged surface are worn. The penny is a 1940P which seems to have been struck through grease or some other material. I thought this was PMD as well, but there is no damage to the rim. Opinions? Thanks Steve
The second coin (Jefferson Nickel) has some lamination errors and the cent looks to have been struck through something, possibly, as vnickels said, a cloth (or it could be jewelry damaged). On the dime, it looks as though the "doubling" is actually just a spread, due to the fact that the strength of the spread is different on each number.
Cent looks like it could be a strike through, the nickel is a nice xample of a lamination error , and the dime looks like machine doubling. (Machine doubling often will only show in one area, sometimes a small area, of the coin.)
