Started my early placement bids on some of the notes in this great auction...Happy that my wife said "Go For It" in this auction...My Christmas presents for the next 5 years if I win anything!:smile
"Go for it" ,your a lucky guy to have a wife who knows what you want ,good luck I've been looking at the catalogs (2) since they arrived yesterday .
believe me, if i win any of the gold certs there will be a problem at home, but i figure i have been married for over 25 years, and there were plenty of other reasons to leave me!
Why do I have to be house hunting now?!?!? WHY?????? Good luck guys, I hope you get some nice notes from this auction.
Hahaha, if only I could without the wife finding out. hmmm...$20 gold certs? Battleship notes? Yes, I do believe that they came with the mortgage honey!
You could hide the notes in the house and then later on tell her that you were cleaning out some vent or hidden area and found them... we hear these discovery stories from people who moved into homes all the time.
PMG like article of the upcoming FUN Auction http://www.pmgnotes.com/news/viewarticle.aspx?NewsletterNewsArticleID=1013 Like a lot of us we can look or maybe if your bidding Good Luck !
Oh she would know it wasn't true. She can see right through those little lies! hahaha, guess it keeps me in check during moments like these!
I have never bid with Heritage before but will likely be doing so for the first time on the FUN auction. I noticed a handful of people saying that they have already bid. Does anyone have any concerns with doing this so early (on Heritage or any other of the major auctions)? Most of my experiences with auctions are with regards to baseball cards. There are a handful of auction houses that have rumors of shill bidding and many people don't bid till the last minute to minimize that possiblility. Once again I have no experience with Heritage and have no proof of any auction house doing this.
I have no issues with bidding early, my approach to any auction is to identify what the item(s) are worth to me, place one bid and step away. If I win, I win. If I am outbid early I have time to reconsider but usually determine having done my homework that my initial bid was within my budget and do not try to counter. I highly recommend Heritage but they do take a while to process and ship lots. Do read all of their fees and what taxes apply to your state, if any, before bidding.
