When looking under the microscope, there are faint images on the obverse side of the vin. The easiest one to see is on the left side of Lincoln’s face. There also appears to be something of his face and then another very faint image of the right side of this head. Any idea what these images would be and what caused them? I had to include both pictures and screenshots and still almost impossible to see them, but I wanted to give it a shot. Thanks!
Pareidolia as mentioned.. Put your microscope away. The US Mint does not put images besides the ones intended on their coins.
Since these "coins" are struck from copper plated zinc blanks, many anomalies happen during the plating process. This is what you seem to have. Good thing - the coin is unique...bad thing - it's worth face value. Welcome to CT
Clearly Folliculitis ... or just the super thin copper plating anomaly. Look at how the entire copper surface is all stubbly like. dull razor. lol just kidding ... Pareidolia
