Hello everyone, I registered on this site as it seems to be a place in which I could get some good advice when it comes to ordering precious metals/silver/coins online...

I am just getting into investing and due to my distrust of the financial system and having a desire to hold currency other than paper currency, here i am.

I am interested in buying small amounts of silver over the course of the next few months. Maybe 2-3 ounces every purchase, etc. I'm assuming coins are the way to go? What types? I am new to all of this, never been into coin collecting or investing into precious metals, so any info/help would be greatly appreciate. Thanks!

    Happy New Year!

If your goal is to invest in silver you should consider buying ASEs (American Silver Eagles). They are one ounce .999 silver. You will pay only a nominal fee above the silver value if you don't buy slabbed ASEs. Stay away from the MS-69s, MS-70s, PF-69s, and PF-70s because they have a high numismatic premium that you may never recoup.

If you distrust the financial system then buy bags of junk silver. They will be the easiest to barter with.
