Hey guys new to the forum here. I'm a very very very amateur collector and was going through my pocket change as I usually do and found a funky looking dime. It *appears* to me to possibly be a strike error. The face of the dime looks like a shattered mirror but the lines are raised and not sunken in. I've posted a picture below, I'm going to have to get a magnifying glass to get a better resolution, that's the best I could get and hopefully someone will be able to tell. If this is a strike error is this coin rare/valuable and if so what range would I be looking at?

    Welcome to CT!!

PMD, looks like something scratched up the surface. Worth between 10 and 10 cents. Just my opinion...

Welcome Orkin man! If the line on the coin is raised as you say you may have somthing there. Try and get a better pic if you can, especially on the In God we Trust area so we can help you out more.

Sorry to bump this old thread. I've had this living around because it's just been bugging me. I finally got a 6x magnifying glass and took some closer up pics. I still can't tell for sure but maybe some of you with better trained eyes for this kind of thing can give some opinions.

    PMD, or Post Mint Damage.

This was caused by someone outside the Mint. The scratches are incused and not raised, which would suggest a cracked die.

    Worth face value.
