The Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan is situated between Israel, Saudi Arabia, Iraq & Syria. Jordan has an area 92300 sq.km. and a population about 5800000. Since VII century b.c. Jordan was the part of Arabian Caliphate. But during the Cross hikes crusaders occupied this countre and founded Principality of Transjordan. They are controled it until 1263. The Principality of Transjordan was the vassal of the Kingdom of Jerusalem.
In 1263 the crusaders lost their principality and Jordan become the part of mamluk's empire. Mamluks controlled Jordan until 1516, when this country was occupied by Ottoman empire.
Turkey owned Jordan until 1918. Then Jordan become a principality under the mandate of GB. At 25 May 1946 it become an independent principality. During the First Arabian-Israel war Jordan occupied the Western bank of Jordan river and proclaimed itself as the Kingdom of Jordan. During the Six-days war (1967) Jordan was at war against Israel and lost. Israel conquered the Western bank of Jordan river and Jordan lost a big part of territory.
After that defeat Kingdom of Jordan prefer to make a peaceful policy. This country has a good "mutual relations" with USA and Russia too. Jordan is a very respected arabian dual monarchy with the stong power of it's king.
