Or get to be good friends with one. Shortly after moving to my small little burg in western PA, I walked down to the local bank branch. I asked the tellers to let me know if anything "odd" turned up. I'd come buy it out of the till. They've been pretty good about it, but I haven't gotten anything really rare yet.

    I see a lot of 64 nickels. Today I got a 1942 S and a 1957-D, along with 55-D and 57-D wheat pennies.

I found a 1988 Roosevelt Dime that appears to be missing the clad layer.
I'm not sure if it's good, but I'll weigh it to see if it is real. It looks similar to a penny, and the inside of a dime is copper. Never know!

At work a 1937 Buffalo Nickel in good condition. You can see everything on the coin, but it has some green rust? on it.

1963-D silver Roosevelt dime today in the drawer, first silver in quite a while. Seems to be the silver dimes that show up all the time, lol, never found a silver quarter (though did find a silver war nickel once).

A couple years ago, got lunch at Wendy's and in my change was a restroom token. I'm sure it was mistaken for a quarter, I didn't complain though. (not as good as the one in my profile picture though.) Now when I go to fast food places that use restroom tokens I take one for my collection. And that incident at Wendy's is what got me started on it. One would never think that there were so many different designs.

I have been collecting for about 6 months. 3 weeks ago I got some rolled coins at the bank to look through and found a 1868 3 cent piece in a roll of dimes. It is the size of a dime and made out of nickle. I suppose the reason it was still circulating was because it sounded like a dime and it was in good condition. At first glance I thought it was a Canadian dime, then after looking closer I saw United States of America and the date.

Thats great!! :high5: I wish I would find something like that in a roll. The best Ive found was some walker haves in my searching. Mabey I'll have to try rools other than halves.
