Do miscuts raise or devalue notes, Such as a 1935 hawaii note with a very noticeable miscut in 58+- condition? The reason I ask is offcentering in card collecting is a bad thing, but paper currency collecting is turning out to be completely differn't, time consuming, attention grabbing and addicting. I ask alot of questions not because i want to invest i's cause I don't want to spend more then I should because of being a noob. Thanks, Matt
Also I'm trying to build a set of 1935 dollars: N. africa, Hawaii, W/motto & W/O motto. Would that be considered a set?

A "set" is whatever you want it to be.

I am not clear about what you mean by miscut. If all the design is there but the note is not centered, then it does affect the value. If the off-centering is enough that part of the design is missing or part of the design of the next note is showing, then it is considered an error.

On the flip side ~ an off center but complete note can go down in value. So, you need to better define what you mean by miscut. Do you mean the note is off center but the design is all there or the note is off center and the design has been cut. Both of these assume the note is the proper size and edges are normal. If you mean miscut where the edges are abnormal like a gutterfold or butterfly fold that is different. This is why a picture would be best to get an answer you are looking for...

    Best Regards
