I was taking photos of my NGC PF69 Silver Proof Eagles when I noticed that the 1998 slab is either starting to tone or is damaged? I can't tell which.

There are dark spots on the bottom of the dress that isn't really apparent until I look at a photo of the slab and magnify it.

Is there any way that this can be corrected? If it is toning, I understood that the NGC slab was suppose to prevent that. My 1988, etc Silver Eagle slabs all look very clean. This is the only one that looks like this.

Your comments and assistance is appreciated. Thank you

  4. Slabs are not completely sealed from the air and toning can and does develop in them. That is what I am guessing is happening to your ASE. Consider storing it in a low humidity place and/or with desiccant packs. TC
