I was searching ebay and i came across the "bag of old coins" bundle. http://cgi.ebay.com/COLLECTORS-DREAM-2-MILLION-COINS-1909-S-VDB-MS67-RED_W0QQitemZ8375216654QQcategoryZ525QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem was just wondering if these are worth the money.
We are one of the nation's top buyers of estate coin collections and we sell 10,000 coins a day to customers throughout the world! AND WE NEVER EVER search the collections we sell (we wouldn't have time if we wanted to). ONE OF THE LARGEST COLLECTIONS OF "KEY & SEMI KEY DATE" LINCOLN WHEAT CENTS WE'VE EVER SEEN! INCLUDING A NICE HANDFUL OF 1909-S & 1931-S COINS PLUS A NUMBER OF 1914-D & 1909-S VDB COINS! OVER 1500 KEY & SEMI-KEY COINS! AND LAST BUT DEFINITELY NOT LEAST - THE CERTIFIED MS67 RED 1909-S VDB!!!! Quoted from their auction.... ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Need I post more????
One time a person here posted a neat thought.....why wouldn't there be key dates in there....lets say I have 5,000+ Wheat cents and I need to sell them....now 4cents each isn't what I need so I go and buy about 5 1931-S cents in low grades for under $75 each...and about 5 1909-S cents in AG/G for $50 or less....now I mix them in and post in the Auction...THERE ARE KEY DATES IN HERE 100% SURE and I sell them for $30.00 a lot...I bet I would make a nice $$$ Speedy
My son bought me a bag of so called UNSEARCHED all wheat back pennies some time ago. As I explained to him if they were UNSEARCHED, how can anyone say they are all wheatbacks. Same type of scam here. If someone knows for sure there are valuabe coins in that mess, how would they know for sure unless they already checked them out or put them there. If found, why not sell the rare ones separately and still sell the rest as UNSEARCHED.
356 Negative or neutral feedback. He does give 100% refunds and some people seem to be getting some decent stuff. Its a gamble. You could spend the money on lottery tix and buy the coins if you win. Seems about the same chance to me.
He changes IDs more often than some people shower. If his stuff is so wonderful, why does he have such small repeat business numbers- less than 25% more total feedback than unique posters?
I could never figure out why some sellers post in their auctions that they don't have time to search the lots that they buy? It just doesn't make any sense! If I buy a lot of coins you can damn sure bet I'm gonna scour the whole mess! On the other hand I did buy some rolls of Wheaties from a seller, and although I found nothing over the top, i did pull out about half a roll of steel cents, and several indian heads, along with a lot of coins from the teens and twenties. I had fun doing it, and I will probably do the same thing for my son when he's old enough to appreciate the hobby. Can't wait for that day!
