    Hi everyone,

I received a scanner for christmas so I thought I'd give it a try. Bought this today, thought it looked vf35 to xf40. I wish I could take more consistent pics with my digital because it captures lustre where the scanner dulls everything. There appears to be traces around the stars both obverse and reverse.

Nice scans. I think you'll have a lot of fun with this machine. I would lean toward VF, but I'm not a skilled grader and I have a habit of being cautious out of fear of overpaying.

    I would say VF20/25.

If someone is able to post a link, go to heritage, and there is a 1912-s NGC XF40. I dont see much difference at all between this coin and the one I just bought. After looking at NGC certified VF35 coins, I think this one shows a little better details.

Nice coin. I also think about XF. However, I like your scanner better than the coin. If it dose that good, you don't really need your camera.
