A new type coin

    I got a 1908 D Barber Half today for my 7070. It was the 2nd hoghest grade one he had for sale, the nicest was a VF/EF but I didnt get it because it appeared to have been gold plated, then put in an acid solution to remove the gold plating ( that didn't remove all the gold plating, I could see some on Liberty's face),then cleaned. I got it for $10 , the price tag said $14, he said $10, I offered him $12, he made me buy it for $10:goofer:.Pics in a few, seems good on obverse and AG on the reverse

    Eric, he said $10 and you offered him $12? And he made you buy it for $10? I think I like this guy.....:)

    I thought he was marking it down because I was a YN. In hindsight, that was pretty stupid:eek:.

    Gold is resistant to many acids, Aqua Regia being the most notable exception.
