US Mint Videos

    Have you all seen the US Mint videos that the mint has on their website? I thought they were pretty interesting. I especially enjoyed the chapter of the "Numismatic" video called "American Eagles". I think it's really interesting to see inside the West Point Mint. Did you realize that they even rub oil on the outside of the planchets for American Eagle coins before striking them?! :eek:

    No, I didn't know that they rub oil on American Eagles.

    I started watching one of the mint videos an d found them very interesting. Unfortunatley I don't have sound on my computer at work, but the images of how they prepare to mint and package the coins is cool. One thing I found funny was when they were making proof coins. The person that was packaging the coins had a glove on one hand, but was using his ungloved hand to place the coin in the holder using his thumb to press the coin in.:yawn: :desk: Hopefully I can watch some more of the video today,... love to watch anything coin related.

    I'm glad you all enjoyed them. Any kind of behind-the-scenes stuff is usually interesting to me.
