Man,,, I use to be able to find these at good prices on the 'bay with regularity...... ... damb toner fever ! to be completely honest, there's one Charmy in there and one teletrade in there also. I love lincoln RB's !!
I buy the best I can afford and find - and generally it is the find part that rules. If I could find all I was looking for, I would have sets with what I will call character be that colorful, wood grained, or what ever.
I like 'em Red and I like 'em mostly red. Red/Brown coins often have a beautiful look to them - love when they turn cherry red.
Yeh, I go for RB's. BN's also, especially if there's still a bit of Mint red in the nooks and crannies.
I like them with character... be it beautiful shiny red MS, or toned, or wood, or chocolate... Whatever makes it pretty to me.
I mainly like RD's on business strike Lincolns and Indians. When it comes to Matte Proofs, BN's all the way. Sometimes RB's. On Proof Indian cents, its always BN and RB because of the nice toning they can have.
I"m a RB fan too. Just costs alot less and less chance of them turning and you loosing money plus they look more "real" to me.
Depending on the coin on what color I like best - large cents - brown, red-brown and last would be red. The on indian head cents I like red brown, brown and then red. As a matter of fact I have some rb ihc's that are mostly red that I think I will replace. I do not own a truly red coin. The only wheatie I kept was a 65 or 66 red brown beaty to me.
