Got this quarter back in change, the reverse has a greenish golden dull color while the obverse is normal. I haven't seen a coin like this, does anyone know if this is an error and what kind ? Any help is appreciated ,thank you.
Okay, I saw some 'satin'finished quarters, kinda had the same look but they were uncirculated maybe mine is just circulated.Any comments?
I doubt that it is an error. Since you found it in circulation, there is no telling what environmental effects may have caused this coin to discolor. Chris
Ive noticed that alot of my state quarters that are stored and stapled in cardboard 2x2's have toned to a point that they appear what I call 'tea stained'. Not quite are dark as yours, but Im sure eventually they will get there. I love the look non-the-less. Sorry, I don't see any green on your pics.
Lol, thank you for the help guys, I submitted pics to fred weinberg, and the result..............he says not an error, oh well I'll keep it still.
I said that tongue-in-cheek. Lately it seems there are more and more posts of coins with PMD that are posted as "errors".
I took it as such, and responded in kind...of course, this being the internet, the sarcasm was lost somewhere in the ether. *lol*
Thanks robbudo, my new cell phone has a built in 8.1 megapixel camera which has made taking quality pics alot easier.
