front.jpg front1.jpg reverse.jpg Got this quarter back in change, back.jpg the reverse has a greenish golden dull color while the obverse is normal. I haven't seen a coin like this, does anyone know if this is an error and what kind ? Any help is appreciated ,thank you.

I doubt that it is an error. Since you found it in circulation, there is no telling what environmental effects may have caused this coin to discolor.

Yea you might be right, though I have found coins before that should not be in circulation.

Ive noticed that alot of my state quarters that are stored and stapled in cardboard 2x2's have toned to a point that they appear what I call 'tea stained'. Not quite are dark as yours, but Im sure eventually they will get there. I love the look non-the-less.
Sorry, I don't see any green on your pics.

The only error I see, is calling this an error. Sorry fish.

Didn't you get the memo? Anything out of the ordinary is an error.

I also have some heavy 'gold' toned state quarters. This looks like one..with scratches.

I said that tongue-in-cheek. Lately it seems there are more and more posts of coins with PMD that are posted as "errors".

I took it as such, and responded in kind...of course, this being the internet, the sarcasm was lost somewhere in the ether. *lol*

Areas where there is a higher sulfur content in the air tend to yellow coin faster.

Thanks robbudo, my new cell phone has a built in 8.1 megapixel camera which has made taking quality pics
    alot easier.
