The Obv. reads " In Commemoration of the opening of Mc Carty's Jewelers " " Aug.23rd. 1930 "

The Rev. reads " This coin increases in trade value each year "

I am hoping this company still exists because this token has been increasing in value for 80 years... mwahaha. I'm walking in and wanting something for free at this point!!! :thumb:

Does anyone have any info on this token?

You're in luck (sort of), they're still in business in Long Beach, CA. I hope you get something really nice, because it's a long trip out there. Good luck and have a safe trip.

Two problems. Is it the same McCarthy's Jewlers? And the token doesn't say how MUCH it increases each year. After 80 years it may just be $10 . :)

Would be fun to send them an email and inquire how much it has increased in value the last 80 years.

It is the same McCarty's Jewelers Conder. The one in Long Beach opened on the date listed on the token. It would be interesting if you lived in the area and brought it in to redeem it. They probably wouldn't know what to do with it.
