    Hi Folks,

found this coin along with 12 other common Morgans in a dealer hoard.
It‘s a better Date coin which I really enjoy.
Feel free to give me your opinion on grade etc. Thanks ;)

Thanks P&G for that link. It does indeed look like the capped mint mark…I would put a grade of AU50-53…imo…Spark

Makes you think about double checking the other Morgans for VAM.

I believe an AU grade is not in reach.
    More like a VF35 or max. XF40.
No signs of cleaning. Honest wear and a minor rim bump at 09:00 o‘clock.

I would agree with XF, but I rarely handle or try to grade Morgans, so take it with a grain of salt. I really like how it looks. Honest wear, good details.

Hold a 5X up to the screen over the CC.

I also thought it was CC over CC which would be a ridiculous find.

    Please verify your answer „no“

I'm not sure what question the "no" is a response to. It's clearly the same CC as the PCGS and Stacks "capped die" examples.

I agree. Great find especially from a dealer.

Submit it, is the next step, to verify yes or no. My opinion.

    I will send it in.
    NGC would be my Choice.
    Stay tuned;)

Thanks to all, may God bless you:)

I am sure you have your reasons why you think it’s not the capped die variety. It would be great if you could share them with everyone (instead of just saying “no”) to keep the discussion going.

European dealer who certainly has no clue about US coins.

@Rheingold It sure looks like the real deal, but any chance this is a counterfeit? Edge looks weird on the pictures.
