Just received a new Celestron USB microscope ($49.88 at J&R) – this is going to be a very cool tool. Here are a couple of learning-how-to-use-this-thing shots.

The only problem I'm having is finding the right angle that keeps reflection from the LEDs out of the shot. But for 50 bucks, I'm pleased with its capabilities

Is it possible to turn off the microscope's LEDs and use a desklamp for illumination?

Can you make a filter (a layer or two of tissue paper) to diffuse the led's?

Now there's a thought....:) Especially if you employ one of those "true light" lamps like Verilux.....

Good ideas, but it would be difficult to defuse the LED light - envision the camera lens surrounded by six very small LEDs, all of which are recessed about 1" into a plastic cavity. Blocking the lights without interfering with the picture would near impossible. And no, the LEDs cannot be turned off with this model.

Buy a Veho, no need to turn the lights off.
    These took one minute.

Nice Pics...just a thought, you may want to go back to the company and see if they would refund you $10...Amazon has the exact same microscope for 10 bucks cheaper.

Me thinks I will get this camera as a start to these kind of close up pictures. Please post some more pics so I can see the capabilities of it. As one person asked for some Morgans please. Thanks for your post.

Most of these that I have seen can't take an image of a whole Morgan. A cent is about the largest.

My scope will just get a full dime, but I didn't buy it for full-size photos. That's why I have a camera.
