So how often do you hear me rave about a blast white Jefferson Nickel? Well it is rare, but it happens. But how often do I rave about a blast white Jefferson Nickel that is not a top pop? Let the raving begin. I would like to state that I absolutely agree with the grade assigned by NGC for this coin. Having said that, this is still a very impressive coin. Booming luster and an absolutely hammered strike. Even though the 6th step is not complete, the detail in Monticello rivals the best strike in my entire collection. In fact, this coin is probably the first Jefferson I have ever purchased based solely on the strike, especially the reverse. Okay, okay, here are the photos. Comments and opinions are welcome as usual and show me your best struck Jefferson Nickel.
Striking! :thumb: A very nice looking coin and of course exceptionally imaged. I guess once you have bought all the top toners around you will have to start buying up other kinds with outstanding features even if they are blast white examples. I was wondering about something I see on the reverse, just inside the rim, from 9 o'clock to 11 o'clock positions. Is that metal flow(?) or a die crack of some kind?
YES! YES! YES! Great coin. Even the details in the portico are strong. Outside of the (partially?) missing 6th step I see only one other place that may indicate slightly less than a full strike. The two central pillars of the porch appear to have lines running in the 2-8 direction. If so, my guess is that they are from the original planchet surface that didn't get fully struck.
