I received a 2005 mint set and the P set of quarters has two Minnesota quarters; missing the Oregon.

    How common is this?

It's definitely a packaging error on the mints part and not real common. If it were a 2010 set I would say send it back, it's defective. You can't do that now unless it was a very recent purchase from a store or reasonable person. As far as value, it's just a defect, not a rarity.

Agreed. Mint defect and not worth anything.

  6. Cool. You now have two bonus chances to check for an extra tree DDR on the Minnesota quarters. :smile TC

A collector from Minnesota might find that interesting, course you'll have to pry them from their block of ice first (heard it's well below zero up there right now) Quality Control in the packaging department must have been on a coffee break.

Only one bonus chance. With every set you get one chance but he gets a bonus chance. :)

It used to be sets with packaging errors like this used to bring an extra dollar when sold, bu with the proper hype on ebay some people have been able to sell them as "rare errors" at well over the going market price. My sense of ethics would not let me do that. How are your ethics?

I don't like being ripped off or ripping people off, so I will just cut them up and put them in 2x2s.
