Ikandiggit is in the ball park for your 1977A $1 error. I bought one in similar condition, a 1995 $1 gutter fold for less than $20 on eBay. How did you get it , was it a circulation find, or gift, or purchase ?
Thanks guys, it was in circulation. I came across it a few years ago and set it aside knowing misprints/mis-stamps are usually more then the face value. Then I forgot about it and just came across it a few days ago. Found this place and asked. Aside from some folds and wrinkles it's in pretty good shape, no tears. -=edit=- BTW, not knowing much about bills (but spending) how do you get "1977A"? It's a Series 1981.

sunflower, I was wondering the same thing! I thought I head they were having an issue with that hologram ribbon though who knows. The BEP is being mighty secretive.
