why not just put on hold or in progress without a shipping date and then keep changing it?. until it is time to ship and put the date on it. my order now is moved from jan. 27 to feb 1.
I believe it's the old carrot and the stick philosophy. They show you a carrot, and beat you with the stick. My nickels still say 1/31 so i'm assuming i'll get them by Friday the 27th.
cancel and protest i hate keep chainging shipping date. i just cancel my order. anyway. this nickel will come out every year. no need to buy it at a premium. instead, i will use this money to buy 2004 or 2005 nickels.
It sounds like the shipping date for everyone's order has been postponed. Mine too. What happens is the Mint's web site automatically increments the shipping date by one day every day to be at least two weeks away from the current date. If you check the site tomorrow, you'll see that your shipping date has incremented again, and so on and so on... They started doing this last year and it's become common with many of their products. This is their way of stringing you along until they are really ready to ship the item(s). So when will it actually be shipped? One day you'll check the site and your status will be "shipped" and the shipping date will have been moved back to the current date. It's just an "all of the sudden" happening. Should you call Customer Service to see if they have any better information? Nope. It won't do any good. They can't tell you any more about your order than you can by checking the web site.
The main reason for this is because the mint isn't the agency sending out these packages. The mint contracts a third part shipper who does this for them, and very often the company doing the actual shipping can't meet the schedule set by the mint. So, they set it back when the shipping company can't meet their dates. Simple as that, and it does no good (usually) to ask the mint employee who knows nothing about the schedule or the reason for changing it.:kewl:
changing schedule in this case. the good point is that you can have time to think again for cancelling the order or not.
place new order now i placed new order for the 2006 nickels 2-set roll. the shipment is quoted as backordered and expected shipment is on feb. 3, 2006. i try to wait for the nevada quarter 2-set roll to come out and save some shipping charge. but it's schedule is set at the end of january. and i'm afraid the two rolls set of westward journey jefferson nickels might be sold out.
west ward nickels i understand that the westward journeys nickels series end this year. that's mean the mint will not produced 2007 nickels in 2 roll sets and bags.
They charged my credit card first thing this a.m., so, this pretty much means that the new nickels are on their way. I should have them in 3-4 days usually.
protest it. if the mint keep chaing the shipping date. to protest against them. just cancel the order.
