    Yes they are quite common with those years.

    These are not cuds. They are die chips. Cuds only effect the edge of the coin.

    die chips? ok thanks for the info im a total newb i thought any metal filling or whatever was a cud

    That's correct. A cud occurs when the edge of the die breaks off. What you have is a minor die chip in the date.
