I just brought a USB microscope and started looking at bits and bobs. I have a coin set in a gold mount and looking at it I wondered what its worth, That's how I end up here lol Here are the picture on flickr if you are kind enough to look and let me know if you much about it or price?: http://www.flickr.com/photos/rossbrobyn/5253927865/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/rossbrobyn/5253927289/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/rossbrobyn/5253926945/ I would normally look for others for sale to find out but I cant see any. I initially thought it was a sovereign as its in a box with a couple. So its 9ct, minted in 1977 in london as far as I can make out from the marking for the silver jubilee of elizibeth 2nd.
I am sorry, but i don't have a clue as to the value of this. I did want to comment on the pics though. Were these taken with the microscope ? And what kind is it ? I need to increase the magnyfication I use to look at my coins due to macular degeneration and am researching what may work best for me. Those are really nice pics. Thanks, gary
