I've been overdue for a good grab due to lousy listing pics. I need to use up my 5 NGC submissions before it expires. This one I am just not sure about seems too good to be true for $28. Hopefully this one will grade?
That is one of the hardest things there is to determine from a picture. There is nothing screaming at me say ing will not, but I am seeing some pink on it and that is not a good sign. If you are worried about the missing letters, I doubt that will be a problem. BTW, that is definitely a good buy for $28.
I know what you are saying Rim. I just double checked, the pink is an anomaly - probably from crushing the original 5mb pic down to 250k . I'll post a section at full resolution in a sec. The luster is solid for an RB coin. I have hit some homeruns in the past, by snatching up broken down collections. I am hoping for grand slam this time. This one has most potential.
I see no reason for it not to grade. That's a SWEET looking 21S! One of the nicer ones I have seen ....great pics too! I'd definately submit that puppy.
EEW, the one thing you have going for you is that it won't cost you the grading fee to find out if it is problem-free or not. I think you should definitely submit it with your certificate just to see if you have to make the trip around the bags or shrink back into the dugout. I've had a few occasions where I withheld submitting a coin until I got my NGC renewal packet for just that reason. Chris
no, not really - especially, if I were to post all the worthless $30 pennies I have bought. The law of averages seems to eventually work by snagging collections and broken sets listed individually. Plus I appreciate well struck coins regardless if they have been cleaned.
The posted pic magnifies better than my loupes. I am inclined to think it is more dent from the rim of another cent. I am still learning and have a hard time identifying what a line from a cracked die and such exactly looks like.
Looks like just a little rim ding or perhaps struck-thru, no biggie, it doesn't distract. It's a GREAT coin....especially for $28.
Well - and don't take this the wrong way - it makes me feel a little better that it's not all "rainbows and unicorns" when people snag these really nice coins for a song. I see these and think "dang - what am I doing"? It's good to realize there's lots of bumps in the road! Still - great find!
